June in the Utah mountains is pure magic, and Chandra and Ben’s wedding day at The Spruces Campground in Big Cottonwood Canyon was the perfect example. Surrounded by towering pine trees, fresh mountain air, and their closest family and friends, this couple created a relaxed and joyful micro wedding that felt equal parts intentional and fun.
The Location and Ceremony
Located just 30 minutes from Salt Lake City, The Spruces Campground is one of our favorite locations for micro weddings in Utah. With open meadows, forested campsites, and easy accessibility, it’s perfect for intimate outdoor celebrations.
Chandra and Ben chose a peaceful meadow right next to their campsite for their ceremony. With the mountains rising around them and soft June light filtering through the trees, the setting felt calm, romantic, and effortlessly beautiful. Their ceremony was simple and heartfelt, keeping the focus on their commitment and the people gathered to celebrate with them.
The Celebration and Details
After the ceremony, everyone gathered back at the campsite for dinner and celebration. Crisp Catering came up the canyon to serve a delicious meal, complete with a fun soda bar that guests absolutely loved. Music played throughout the evening, and lawn games like cornhole kept the atmosphere light and playful.
The decor stayed intentionally simple: tablecloths, fresh flowers, and picnic tables dressed just enough to feel special while letting the natural beauty of the forest shine. It felt less like a formal event and more like a joyful gathering of friends and family in the mountains.
Why We Loved This Wedding
Chandra and Ben’s wedding was a perfect example of what makes micro weddings so special. It was relaxed, meaningful, and centered on connection: good food, laughter, and time spent together in a beautiful place.
